R.A.C.E. is an educational and social change organization at the University at Albany, established in November 2009. R.A.C.E. is focused on providing tutoring and mentoring services to disadvantaged, "at risk" youths to motivate them to do better in both in and out the classrooms. Many of the youths we will be working with have been negatively stigmatized sometime throughout their lives and placed into antagonistic classification groups. As a result, many of them feel as though they cannot change and all that’s left for them to do is engage in incorrigible behavior. R.A.C.E encourages its members to gain a close relationship with the children we work with so that they can help them break away from the negative labels placed on them by their fellow peers and community members, so that all children can be equal in society.
