The mission of the “Girls Rising Onto Womanhood (G.R.O.W.)” Mentoring program is to provide a one on one mentoring relationship with troubled young women and positive, female role models, who will inspire these young women to realize their potential to succeed both in and out the classrooms. Our mentoring program plans to meet weekly OR biweekly (your choice) for ONE HOUR. We also plan to meet in group settings with all the mentors and mentees on some occasions and have workshops to discuss important issues facing most young women today. In addition, we also plan to get these young women involved with community service projects through the Capital City Rescue Mission, Habitat for Humanity, Capital District Community Gardens, etc. to show them the importance of giving back to the community.
If you are a female and interested in becoming a mentor to a young woman between the ages of 7-12, please email Mentor Coordinator Ayo Adeyemi at [email protected] for more information.
