Eagle Point Elementary School

1044 Western Avenue

Albany, NY 12203

Eagle Point serves approximately 285 students, and its small size allows teachers and administrators to create a cozy environment where programs can be individualized to meet students' specific needs. The school's mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that develops and promotes a diverse community of confident lifelong learners.

Special Programs:

The Emerging Men of Tomorrow Mentoring Program

The mission of the “Emerging Men of Tomorrow” Mentoring program is to provide a one on one mentoring relationship with disadvantaged young men and positive, male role models, who will inspire these young men to realize their potential to succeed both in and out the classrooms.

The Girls Rising Onto Womanhood (G.R.O.W.) Mentoring Program

The mission of the Girls Rising Onto Womanhood (G.R.O.W.) Mentoring Program is to mentor and empower at-risk girls in elementary and middle school to stay in school, excel academically, and go onto college. As a R.A.C.E./G.R.O.W. Mentor, you will be impacting the lives of young girls by promoting leadership, self-esteem, and community service.

Our mentoring programs meet weekly OR biweekly (your choice) for ONE HOUR. We also meet in group settings with all the mentors and mentees on some occasions and have workshops to discuss important issues facing most young women today. In addition, we plan to get these young women involved with community service projects through the Capital City Rescue Mission, Habitat for Humanity, Capital District Community Gardens, etc. to show them the importance of giving back to the community.

Weekly/Bi-Weekly (Monday-Friday) 11:15am-11:45am, 11:55am-12:25pm, or 12:35pm-1:05pm.
